Sexual Communication and Consent

Dr. Shuey will facilitate a discussion about safer sex, sexual health and wellness, consent, communication, LGBTQ issues, pleasure and more. Using puppets and props, this interactive workshop is designed to engage an audience of all comfort levels and to encourage sexual practice that is healthy and mutual.

Natural Remedies

Make your own herbal infusions and tinctures at this drop-in booth. Presenter Geraldine Lavin will supply herbs she has foraged or cultivated and vats of vinegar, alcohol, cider and oil for the herbs to be infused in. You will be able to learn the basics of what each infusion can be used for and to take home the samples you will make. Also, pick up a copy of a zine of favorite combinations along with tips and instructions to keep making more!

Victim-Blaming in the Media, What it is & What You Can Do About It

Tara Murtha, Senior Writer for Philly Weekly, will discuss victim-blaming and how it is institutionalized in media coverage of sexual violence. The workshop will cite terminology and angles that perpetuate victim-blaming in discussions of legal cases, policy, popular culture; review the history of sex crimes in American press; and point to specific egregious examples in current media, as well as ways to intervene and prevent the phenomenon.
